Timber Greens semi-private golf course features 6,133 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par 71. The course rating is 69.8 and it has a slope rating of 124 on pristine Bermuda grass fairways and Paspalum greens. Designed by renowned golf course architect Ron Garl, the Timber Greens golf course opened in 1995. Abundant sand, wetlands, and rolling tree-lined fairways challenge players of all skill levels. Groups and leagues are welcome.

Timber Greens is also pleased to extend our hospitality to those playing a round of golf as individuals, groups, in corporate leagues the opportunity to visit and enjoy our 19th Hole Bar and Grille for food and beverages. Every season residents will find stylish and attractive clothing and apparel for both men and women. Our team of Professionals can assist you with recommendations for new equipment and have the ability to custom fit clubs or special order anything from shoes to golf bags, apparel and golf clubs.

Golf Amenities

Timber Greens is a semi-private golf course offering a wide array of golf events and activities. Outside play is also welcome. All outside play must be prearranged through our Pro Shop.


Enjoyable events thrive at Timber Greens from Men’s, Women’s, and Couples Associations, which assist residents to find games and meet new people. Specialized golf events such as themed Holiday events, Senior events, Neighborhood Challenges, State Challenges, and the Annual Spaghetti Open are always followed by a time to socialize and a casual dinner.


Numerous great tournaments highlight the Timber Greens Golf Calendar including Men’s and Women’s Member/Guest, Member/Member and Invitational competitions, multi-divisional Club Championships and Timber Greens never ending commitment to Charity Benefit tournaments. All tournaments have great social events involved to exchange stories and salute the champions!


With three Golf Professionals on staff, the Club offers instruction conducted on our short game practice area and putting green. Professional lessons are offered as a single lesson, lesson series and clinics for veteran and new golfers. 


To hone your golf skills, our practice facilities are all open daily and include a short game practice area, hitting net, a chipping and putting practice green. 


Timber Greens has a new fleet of Golf Carts every 3 years. 2019 introduces our new 48-Car fleet which features hole-by-hole satellite GPS, USB charging ports, cushioned seats, and Satellite Radio.The three year cart turnover is representative of our commitment to continue improving our residents' experience and making Timber Greens the highly designated golf community that it is. Privately owned carts are permitted on the course.


  • Greens conversion from Tifdwarf Bermuda grass to Sea Isle Supreme paspalum completed in 2007
  • New Toro fully automated irrigation system installed in 2011; pump station included
  • Reclaimed water utilized to irrigate golf course, thus conserving potable water usage
  • Many conservation areas throughout course are beneficial to wildlife and improve aesthetics
  • The greens comprise 3 acres; the tees 4 acres and the fairways 30 acres
  • Both greenside and fairway bunkers are located strategically to frame holes and define doglegs; rakes are left in bunkers
  • Divots should NOT be replaced, but always top dressed


  • Tee tops, fairways and green slopes are overseeded with a perennial ryegrass blend prior to the onset of cooler temperatures
  • The paspalum greens do not require overseeding as they maintain their color and consistency


  • Greens are mowed daily at a height-of-cut around .115 inches (less then 1/8”); may vary slightly depending upon time of year
  • Tees are mowed three times per week at a height of 1/2inch
  • Collars and approaches are mowed three times per week at a height of 5/8 inch
  • Fairways are mowed continuously throughout the week (a minimum of 2 times)
  • Roughs and slopes are mowed continuously (wall-to-wall weekly)
  • Cups are cut daily & tee markers are moved daily
  • Bunkers are raked three times per week
